Grantee: Spokane Print and Publishing Center (SPPC)

Project Title: Operational Support and Compendium Publication
Year awarded: 2020, Round 2

Founded in a collaboration of some of Spokane’s most well-known printmakers, SPPC is an immersive learning space dedicated to print, publishing, and creative play. Opened in West Central in 2019, SPPC provides access to equipment, resources, and expertise to empower their students to execute their own print, book, writing, fabrication, and printing projects. SPPC offers classes and access to difficult to access equipment in letterpress, screen printing, and relief printing, and provides space and education in drawing, binding, and “nerd craft:” comics, games, and illustration. With SAGA support, SPPC will be able to purchase the equipment needed to carry out the in-house publishing of their annual work compendium, and pursue gatherings and classes as appropriate and safe through 2020-21.
